History

I am a transplanted Chicagoan. It's hard for me to express how much I love Chicago....

Chicago Cubs the Chicago Reader.

I went to high school here.

I went to college here .

I go to graduate school here.

You want to understand Bryn Mawr? Good luck!
But here is a good place to start.

I spend a lot of time on msgs ,
a bulletin-board-type...
...umm...thing that my friends and I use for expression.

One of us got college credit for analyzing us.
And they wonder why the rest of the world kicks our asses on standardized tests...

Reference Materials

This site taught me a great deal about the art of argument.

Thanks to Rebecca Tuynman '97 for asking me to look up the logical fallacies.
Quote: "I was curious and I knew if I asked you it'd drive you so crazy that you'd do it for me."

Free Medline. Very useful for biomedical science types.

Internet Movie Database, for EVERY movie question you will ever have.

The Yellow Pages Online. This is what the Web is for.

Publications and Media

Retro, a truly beautiful web zine.

All the news that's fit to print,
from the New York Times
and the Christian Science Monitor.

Without National Public Radio I would probably not listen to the radio. I hate commericals.

If you just can't handle the real world,
let the Onion be your guide.

Pseudo Science

Some cool astrology.
Rob Brezny is the only good thing about Philly's weekly papers.

Speaking of horoscopes, cast a chart and figure yourself out.

Once you've done that, print it out and go here to see
what it all means. This site also has some explanations, and has awesome forecasts.

(Virgos (virgo symbol
here) (like me) are supposedly too logical for astrology.)

Real Science

Serendip is a site for those curious about the place where biology, computer science, psychology/cognitive science, sociology and history of science converge. (There might be more there too.)

Overarching it all is my general interest in neuroscience.

The Implicit Attitudes Test measures your unconscious prejudices. Not for the closed-minded.

Causes

Human Rights Campaign, a PAC worth supporting.

Buy nothing for a day. Go on...they dare you.

Malvina's Feminism Page is a good place to start. You go grrl!

Hardware

My first car was a 1982 VolkswagenRabbit whose name was Penny.
She was so wonderful...no pictures remain, but now I have a 1985 BMW named Jost who is a worthy enough successor.
