Chapter 3

It all started a very long time ago.  The Earth was still a new place in 
the grand scheme of the universe.  Among other things, it was populated by 
the race of Man.  Man lived well, working and eating and learning.  Then 
an alien form visited the Earth.  Man was confused.  Never before had they 
seen such creatures.  While similar to them, this new race was more 
intelligent and agile, yet slightly smaller and with a softer exterior.  
This new race was well organized and thorough, and thus they soon 
conquered the race of Man.  But Man was not a creature to give up easily.  
They gave up their lazy ways and studied the aliens, this race that called 
themselves Women.  They eventually found a weakness.  This race of Women 
was incapable of rational and logical thought in the face of great 
emotional stimulus.  Thus, Man invented flower bouquets and the romance 
novel.  A treaty was made and Man and Woman decided to work together, or 
at least enjoy frequent and unneccessary procreation.

The world existed as such for quite some time.  There were lots of boring 
little events along the way such as the Renaissance and the Internet, but 
all in all, life changed very little.  Man and Woman continued to 
procreate until the Earth became quite a crowded little place.
