i promise you i do not know what love is
and each day takes from me the reassurance
that i do know and that i have always known
that i have always felt such an entity
and i stand before you now
i tremble and i pray that you can show me
what it is that has been so assuredly assumed
in the past, that now is questioned
no mercy is given
but the soft look that is bestowed upon this undeserving woman
and i hope to learn restraint
the kind that holds people together forever
and i refuse to give up my faerie tale
for the contemporary view of malleable change
for change should not occur within the bond
but within the hearts and minds and consciousness
of those who dare to risk all, biting their lips and
pursuing every inevitablity of what we are told no longer remains
